the design for this garden was rotated by 40 degrees so that an illusion of more space and width could be achieved, and take advantage of the views over the city. A flower meadow was added as part of the lawned area and the existing swing seat moved nearer to the house. A raised herb bed is adjacent a permanent seating area with integrated storage. Planting was added to the pea shingle. Some existing shrubs were rejuvenated and included in the new planting beds. A set of arches provide support for climbers.
garden before: the narrow long garden with central worn lawn looked uninviting. Overgrown planting was packed tight against boundaries and some shrubs took light from garden. Access to this garden is up many stairs and through a narrow pathway.
