the design is based around a level lawn with path surround, and alpine central circular border with birdbath. The upper patio was raised and extended to increase entertainment space. Easy access pathways from garden buildings, garage and patio were created with slopes of resin bound. Terraced beds of themed coloured planting frame the property when looking back from the pergola seating area. The large oak pergola has wires for climbers. Three new Sorbus trees were added to add privacy to a boundary. The kitchen garden radiates away from the centre of the design. All beds in the garden are edged with metal edge and the curved beds are bound by vertical oak sleepers.

"What we liked about working with Susan was that she can see through what is there today and come up with a garden transformation. She takes the input from you, as the client, and then induces additional ideas and challenges we just hadn't thought of".

"She also uses her engineering background for both the precision & layout of the design as well as her project management skills to manage our landscaping contractor".

garden before: the patio in this garden was narrow and had the steps from the property taking up even more space. The ground was uneven and dropped away from the property towards the end boundary. Mature shrubs were planted close to boundaries in narrow beds. The existing hardscape had many levels and trip hazards.

A local charity made good use of the unwanted patio slabs.
